Brookline Peace Coalition Endorses Jason Poulos

Brookline Peace Coalition
Poulos For Congress

Dear Neighbor,

When our national leadership fails us, we must make our voices heard wherever we can: that has been a founding principle of the Brookline Peace Coalition. Over the past years, as we watched the devastating and ongoing genocidal assault on Gaza, we looked to our representative in Congress to carry our urgent call for a ceasefire to the administration.

Instead of representing our voices, Congressman Jake Auchincloss has continuously offered unconditional support for military action. While we sought an end to the violence, he found it “wise to ignore those calls for a ceasefire, which were reckless and misguided” 1. He continuously asserted that “U.S. materiel is necessary” to continue the dismantling of Hamas 2, has opposed ceasefire resolutions and arms embargoes 3, condemned Amnesty International for its reporting on Gaza 4, called on the International Criminal Court to rescind their arrest warrant against PM Netanyahu and Israeli leaders accused of crimes against humanity 5.

Because the federal government was failing us, we turned to our municipal government to try and make a difference. But now, for the first time, we have the opportunity to challenge the status quo directly at the federal level.

In the upcoming September 1st Democratic primary, Congressman Auchincloss has a serious challenger: Jason Poulos.

Jason Poulos offers a fundamentally different, positive vision for our district. He is an independent researcher from Sherborn who understands that true security comes from investing in people, not endless war. Jason is fighting for structural changes that will directly improve our lives, including Medicare-for-All.

Crucially, Jason believes our democracy shouldn’t be for sale. While the incumbent relies heavily on corporate and special interest funding, Jason has taken a strict pledge to reject all corporate PAC money. His only accountability is to us, the voters.

We need to send a clear message that unconditional support for endless war and corporate interests does not represent Brookline. We need a representative who will listen to our coalition, fight for a lasting peace, and prioritize the well-being of working people.

This primary is our chance to demand better and vote for a future we actually believe in. Please join us in supporting Jason Poulos for Congress on September 1st.

In solidarity,

The Brookline Peace Coalition
